A 64 voice piano tone generator module that packs the sound of the SGproX professional stage piano into a single-space rack unit. |
SG-Rack:
12 Piano sounds including a lavish stereo grand:
The SG-Rack is a piano module that packages the widely-acclaimed piano sounds of the SGproX stage piano/controller in a single-space rack mountable unit. The SG-Rack uses a gigantic 24 Mbytes of memory to store three different sampled piano waveforms, and takes advantage of KORG's sophisticated voicing technology to provide high quality piano sounds with superb presence.
In particular, the natural ambiance of the new stereo-sampled piano, its richly resonant low and mid-range, and the responsiveness of its tone to playing dynamics are something which can be experienced only on the SG-Rack. The SG-Rack provides a total of 12 variations of acoustic piano sound, carefully selected to meet the needs of any playing style.
Rich variety of sounds, effects and easy parameter editing:
In addition to 16 different acoustic piano sounds, the SG-Rack provides 48, frequently used stage sounds such as Electric Piano, Clavi, Organ, strings, Synth Pads, Voices and more for a total of 64 different built-in sound programs.
These programs' attack, decay, release, effect settings and more can be modified as desired, and stored in internal memory. Plus, in the Performance mode, two timbres can be combined to create a split or layer for even more tonal possibilities With 64 of these pre-programmed for you the SG-Rack offers a total of 128 sounds out of the box!
The SG-Rack also contains a high-quality stereo digital multi-effect unit featuring professional quality reverbs, delays, chorus and more. In addition, the SG-Rack features a Hyper Enhancer which adds more emphasis to the natural spaciousness of a piano, giving the sound additional empact. Additionally, an Effect On/Off button is provided to the front panel, so you can easily eliminate or add the effects when necessary.
The SG-Rack is compatible with the SGproX. When an SG-Rack and SGproX are connected, sound data created on one unit can be sent to the other unit via MIDI. The display features a large LCD of the same size as on the SGproX stage piano/controller, with excellent visibility during editing even when viewed from a distance.
Extras:
The front panel of the SG-Rack provides an "A4 switch" that lets you audition its sound, even when no keyboard is connected, to easily verify MIDI and audio cable connections. It also includes a reset button which resets MIDI reception to the initial state - ideal for use when MIDI problems occur.
