The Finance is open to anyone of ages 18 to 25 (as of 1st April 2011) and is designed specially to get people into playing and to help musicians get that instrument they always dreamed of! Take it Away is run by the Arts Council of England and only available through official registered outlets which we are at synthesisers.co.uk.
Alternative finance is available at 19.5%APR on all products from £100 through to £15,000. This finance is applicable for anyone aged over 25 or those who wish to purchase non-musical instrument products such as amplification. As it also covers a greater range of goods and price range there are also variable ranges of payment times such as 12, 24, and 48 months available. Please call and ask staff for details.
Under 18 Finance
If you are purchasing a product on finance for your own child under the age of 18 then there is a new 0% finance option available. Details of your child will be required i.e. school, D.O.B amongst other details. This could be a great way to get your child musically educated without a large initial outlay. Terms and conditions apply and this finance method is only available in-store.
In-Store or Mail Order Purchases
The Finance scheme is available for all types of purchases whether it be in our store or if you are making a purchase for mail order over the phone. When making an application for finance mail order, 2 forms of ID will be required. This can include driving license and counterpart plus a bank statement, or passport, or utility bill etc. Basically anything which is official. The best way to get this ID to us is to take your originals into your local bank and have them photocopy them and stamp them to say they are an official likeness of the original. That saves you having to send documents back and forth through the post.
In store we do require payment for the deposit to be made on a card that is in the name of the person taking the finance. Otherwise we have to see 1 proof of ID such as a photocard driving licence. In-store musical instrument finance products can be taken away straight away from the store where as with Mail order finance goods can not be dispatched until signed forms and proof of ID are back with us.
NOTE: Finance is a non cancellable agreement. You do have 14 days of which you can withdrawl from the finance but not the goods, and you do have to pay for the goods in full at that point.
How it Works
The payments for Finance are taken via direct debit from the account you have selected at the time of signing up. The first payment you make is a minimum 10% of the product value (as if the first of 10 payment) which is made in-store or over the phone if mail order and has to be made via card payment. The remaining balance is divided by 9 and taken out after each elapsed month until the balance is paid in full. There are no hidden charges involved.
The Forms are simple and quick and authorization of the finance is normally done within 5 minutes of ringing through to the Arts Council authorization team.
