|
Nord C1 Combo OrganNord's concept is very simple. To create a portable combo organ that sounds better than any other on the market, it has to be portable, have drawbars that can be seen on stage as well, have a waterfall action to be able to slide on the keys and look good as well. May I introduce the Nord C1 Combo Organ. The worlds best portable organ.

Award winning sound technology
The dual manual Nord C1 Combo Organ comprises three types of vintage organs: a classical tonewheel, Vox* Continental and Farfisa* Compact Deluxe, all carefully modeled from their originals. Also featuring our famous tube style overdrive, rotating speaker simulation, delay, reverb and 3-band EQ effects, the Nord C1 will tailor sounds for your body, mind and soul. To prove their point Nord went and won the 2008 MIPA award for the best portable organ combo.
The C1 control Panel

On the top of the Nord C1 is the control section. 2 Sets of drawbars which are controlled with up/down buttons and represented by LED lights so you can see them easily on the stage. Each set of 9 drawbars is for the upper and lower sections of the twin 61 note waterfall keyboards. The top panel of the C1 also has percussion buttons, organ type selection, rotary speaker control, amp simulation, delay, drive, reverb and more!!! All designed neatly for instant access to all the functions you need without all the bits you don't. |
Under The Hood
The guts of the Nord C1 combo organ is where the heart and soul of the sound lies. Painstakingly modeled sounds taken from a classic rotary organ, Farfisa Compact and Vox continental organs the sound is like nothing you have ever heard before.
The unique tonewheel generator design is the heart of a classic tonewheel organ. This is where the basic sound is created by 91 spinning discs and magnetic coils. Nord have modeled all tone generators for a full polyphony of 147 notes. The model also includes significant artifacts like wheel crosstalk, cable leakage and coil energy robbing. The result is a stunning re-creation and warmth of the original organs which is now lost butt he Nord C1 organ brings it all back to life. Of course this is not all that is required for a good organ. The rotary speaker simulation from Clavia's award winning Nord C1 combo Organ incorporates the acoustic variations that occur as a physical rotating speaker spreads the sound around in a room, providing the full experience of moving the air around.
Of course to control the sound while playing is essential. A rotary pedal input socket is supplied to adjust speeds at the tap of a pedal and a swell pedal input is supplied for the volume control.
It is very difficult to sum up all the work that Nord have put in to the C1 organ and to hear it yourself is the only way to understand the immense sound that the C1 can reproduce.
Powerful Sound Control
The Nord C1 offers something a little more special and extra compared to most. A special dedicated 11 pin Leslie socket is supplied on the back so you can connect a proper Leslie cabinet. The built-in 3-band equalizer along with three types of speaker simulations and an extremely powerful overdrive offers you total tonal control of your sound. Add a feedback-delay with tap-tempo functionality, and several types of reverberation and you truly have an all-in-one effect section with stunning sound right out of the box.
Bass Pedals Section
No genuine organ is complete without bass pedals. The Nord C1 organ supplies a third set of drawbars for the bass pedals which can be plugged in via MIDI. We would recommend the Roland PK5 pedals for this job. There are 2 drawbars one for a synth type bass and one for an organ type bass which can be controlled like drawbars.
Optional ExtrasThe Nord C1 has a few recommended optional extras. There is the optional Nord Stand for Nord C1 which looks classic and does allow bass pedals to fit underneath. There is also the optional music rest for those who need to have the music in-front of them. Prices can be obtained by contacting us on 01772 722468 |
