So what makes the Nord Stage 76 so special?

The Nord stage is a piano with a difference. It concentrates on performance and sound quality instead of all the things you dont want. It is also unusual in its size. Normally you need the full length 88 note keybed for a weighted piano action but the Nord Stage 76 piano breaks the rule. This makes it very portable, lighter and yet offers the touch that all pianos players require. For the gigging musican it is perfect! A blend of stunning pianos, E. Pianos, drawbar organ and synths with real-time control like never before. As an award winning piano it deserves every recognition.

The sound source

The Nord Stage starts as a piano with its weighted keys. Offering the proper piano weighted touch the amazing piano sounds are brought to life. Nord have taken every effort to create a superb piano. Using specially sampled sounds taken from pianos such as the steinway and the mighty Yamaha C7 concert grand the re-creation for live and recording situations is un-matched. Dynamic, and sonically stunning the pianos can be processed through the effects blocks including reverbs/ delays, 3 band EQ and more.

As well as the piano section the Nord Stage 76 also houses 2 extra sound sections. These are the drawbar organ and the synthesizer section. Again Nord have cut no corners. Using only the most adapt and unique recording techniques Nord have modelled an astounding drawbar organ section. Consisting of sounds from a very famous and classic jazz organ, a Vox Continental and a Farfisa compact the organ section is like nothing you have ever heard before. Instant drawbar control using buttons and LED lights to represent drawbar positions is great for on-stage visibility. The Nord Stage 76 drawbar section has a unique sound. Closely representing the original classics Nord have modelled and designed the organ sounds to be second to none.

The organ also has a rotary speaker like no other. Slow and Fast speeds which can also be assigned to the modulation wheel for everything in-between! A direct pedal input for rotary control is supplied on the back of the Nord Stage for convienience of being able to switch rotary speed at the tap of a pedal.

The Synthesizer section of the Nord Stage 76 is no different. Powerful and rich synth bass sounds, synth, lead and rich swirling pad sounds which link beautifully with the piano and organ section. With basic ADSR cntrol at the turn of a knob, Oscillator control, effects control and more the nice selection of synth sounds in the Nord Stage become a very useful extra. The sounds are on par with the mighty sounds of the other Nord synths.

All the Nord stage 3 sound sections can be played individually, split, or layered up to twice each (6 sections of sounds). This alone makes the Nord Stage not just an amazing portable piano, organ or synth but a powerful sound source in general.

The Nord stage 76 really does work for on 'stage' use. Offering possibly the best live and real-time control of any piano on the market, the Nord stage front panel has a nice array of knobs and buttons which are clearly visible and can be instantly set. Resonant filters for the synth, instant drawbar control, user memories for instant recall during live performance and more. Even aftertouch can be set in the blink of an eye to almost any controller.

By pressing the aftertouch button and simply tunring a knob the value is assigned to the aftertouch. In the blink of an eye the aftertouch can be set to bring in other sound, control LFO and more which is absolutely essential for the gigging musician. The Nord Stage 76 is quite possibly the best gigging piano ever!

Enhance your sounds with the Nord effects section

Having a superb sound to start with is the key that many products seem to miss the point of. The Nord stage piano has cracked this by offering a superior quality effects section as well as a superior sound source. The effects block found at the end of the Nord Stage panel offers 3 different effects at once along with reverb and a compressor!

The 3 effects blocks offer effects such as Wah, delay, Chorus, flanger and more. Any section can be assigned to each effect block to create the ultimate sound for your needs. There is also an amp/ compression section which offers stunning biting overdrive and amp simulation for the classic biting e.pianos or classic B3 blues jazz tones.
